  offers a full range of garden design services including:
A typical commission would include the following: Design consultation I will visit you and look at your garden. At this stage it is helpful if you have some idea of how much you would like to spend on your garden and a list of wishes and needs. I will take extensive notes and photographs and may also take measurements in preparation for drawing up a concept design. Garden survey At some stage the garden must be accurately measured. With smaller gardens this can often be done during the initial consultation. For larger gardens a separate visit will be necessary. For very large gardens or difficult sites I may subcontract this to a specialist. Concept design After the initial meeting I will prepare a series of sketches and photographs showing different options for your garden. For some clients this may be all they need in order to carry out the work themselves. For others we will agree on an idea and I will prepare the final design. Design and planting plans When the concept design is agreed I will prepare plans of the design and planting from which the garden can be constructed. Usually clients prefer me to supervise the construction but occasionally clients want to build it themselves or hire their own contractors. Project management As well as the design and planting plan, I will do any construction drawings necessary, order and purchase the plants and materials, organise contractors and supervise the building and planting of your garden. Finishing touches I can also source and purchase on your behalf, at discounted rates, garden furniture, sheds, lighting, garden buildings and accessories. Aftercare and maintenance On completion of the garden I supply brief care notes with advice on establishing your new plants. If requested, I can provide a full maintenance and pruning schedule starting from £50. |
